It’s have been a while since Windows Phone 7 (WP7) has been out. As of today, 22.02.2011, Microsoft is rolling out the first Updates for WP7. There are in fact some issues with WP7 that, espacially professionals have with. There are a lot of missing features compared to other phone OS’es like iOS, Android or Windows Mobile 6.5. BUT the new Windows Phone Plattform is a rising hope for all who don’t like the limitations and paternalism of Apple or the bad response of the Android screens and the lost of invest in a phone with Android which don’t get any Updates after a half year, cause it is outdated, give WP7 a CHANCE!
Yes, there are features missing, but put in mind that it is a very young OS! Microsoft is working on the OS, to give you a good mobile os for a good smart phone experience. Yes it takes time, as software is to bee good.
Buy a WP7 and give the market a chance to get competition! If you like to buy a WP7 device let me give you an advice. Buy a LG Optimus 7. I for myself have a HTC Mozart 7. It is my fifth device from HTC sind my old QTEK 8080 (QTEK was the old name of HTC) and I always felt good with their devices. Not only that they where the only Manufacturer for Windows Mobile Professional devices available in Germany. My Mozart 7 indeed sucks! Yes it looks stylish, but it is not well designed. I can’t remember how often I shut the phone down only because the power button is placed and built in stupidly! The volume controls are also a mess. Yesterday I compared my HTC against the LG. I was long in doubt which phone I should buy. HTC or LG? But after my long good experience with HTC i decided for the Mozart. I shouldn’t! The LG is well built, not as heavy as the Mozart and it has Gorilla glas. The Displays are pretty eaven. The features of both phones are pretty the same but LG did a better job of implementing some nice features like augumentet reality.
If you are an developer look at the Microsoft Sites for Windows Phone 7. There you can get any informations you need to build applications for the new devices including the Visual Sutdio 2010 Express Edition for Windows Phone. Give it a try!
